Switch 2 Exclusive The Duskbloods Will Feature 8-Player PvPvE Multiplayer Gameplay

FromSoftware is most famous for its single player titles, but the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods is going in a new direction. The scary, gothic exclusive debuted at the Nintendo Switch 2 direct, drawing envy from Bloodborne fans still left wanting.

The Duskbloods Players Will Fight Enemies and Each Other for “First Blood”

During the trailer for The Duskbloods, a player could be seen summoning either a familiar or a player ally, leading some to believe there may be some multiplayer aspect. But according to the official game website, there’s much more to that.

On the FromSoftware website, the game is described (in Japanese) as “a PvPvE-based multiplayer action game in which up to eight players fight each other and against enemies.” Players will supposedly join the “Twilight Blood Tribe” and use their special blood and superhuman powers to battle for the “First Blood.” Several terrifying and challenging-looking enemies were showcased as well; a staple of FromSoftware titles. The gothic tones and references to blood are surely painful for Bloodborne fans to see, who have now been waiting years for any news of a follow up to the 2015 PlayStation 4 release

The director of Elden Ring and Dark Souls, Hidetaka Miyazaki, is leading the project scheduled for a 2026 release. Miyazaki will provide additional info on the Switch 2 exclusive in a special “Creator’s Voice” article to be published on the Nintendo website on April 4th, 2025.

What do you think about From Software leaning into more multiplayer between The Duskbloods and Elden Ring Nightreign? Let us know down below, and join the discussion in the official Insider Gaming forums.
