Splitgate Developer Posts Cryptic Teaser Trailer, New Reveal Coming This Week

In a new post on X today, the official Splitgate account revealed a mysterious new teaser trailer, hinting that something important is coming “in three days.”

The teaser doesn’t reveal any further details, though it does show off some familiar imagery. The character involved already has fans speculating on a potential Splitgate sequel.

Splitgate developer 1047 Games did not elaborate. The team will presumably clear things up with its anticipated announcement on July 18, 2024.

Free-to-play multiplayer shooter Splitgate originally launched in 2019, and still has ‘Very Positive’ reviews on Steam. Fans largely praised the portal mechanics and the pace of combat. However, the game rolled out its final update as far back as September 2022.

At that time, the developer confirmed the end of future development on Splitgate. However, in the same post, the team teased their next project.

They mentioned plans for a “a new game in the Splitgate universe,” another shooter with portals. It will be built in Unreal Engine 5, and it will also be free to play. The devs also teased this game will present “revolutionary” changes.

Following today’s teaser trailer, the major announcement coming this week could finally reveal the mystery Splitgate project. The big reveal could include an official title, or even a trailer, given how much time has passed since new Splitgate content ended.
