Developers at French studio Spiders are set to strike over claims of mismanagement, instability, turnover, and more. The strike will take place on September 2 and 3.
The developers at the studio behind Greedfall published a 20-page document on Tuesday outlining the reasonings for the strike. Signed by 44 of 95 company employees, the document lists “several years of known problems”.

“Today, it is with regret that we speak out publicly, in the hope that this will finally push management to act in the best interests of employees and the company,” the letter reads.
The problems alleged by studio staff include instability in living due to low wages while living in Paris, a “complete opposition to anticipating problems and securing working conditions”, mismanagement of tripling the studio size within three years, veteran employees leaving the company with little effort to retain, delays in gender equality, and a “blatant lack of transparency on all aspects of the company”, among other issues.
“Despite having been brought up with management for years through every possible channel, problems are either ignored or worse, their very existence is outright denied and questioned,” they said.
The above problems, the employees say, have been ” greatly amplified over the past year with the arrival of the current head of the company”.
“We had demanded that the head of the company [Anne Devouassoux] receive a delegation of Spiders’ workers to discuss all these points,” the letter said. “She accepted, the delegation came to a meeting on August 27 and then waited in vain for the management to come, which it never did.”
This latest strike follows one that took place back in January. There were also open letters sent to company management that they claim the studio has chosen to ignore.
