Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is said to launch on September 9, 2024, but one question has loomed for a while: will Space Marine 2 have crossplay?
Luckily, we know the answer.
Space Marine 2 Crossplay Details
In late August, Warhammer announced how crossplay will work in Space Marine 2. The TL:DR? Yes, Space Marine 2 will have crossplay.
From launch day, Space Marine 2 will support “full crossplay” between PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store (EGS).
“You will be able to play the Campaign and PvE modes without any restriction,” the developers said.
However, there is one small caveat for those playing the PvP mode called “Ethernal War”. In this mode, crossplay for Space Marine 2 will be between those on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) and console (PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S). In short, those playing on PC will be matched against other PC players, while the console will be matched with others on consoles.
Space Marine 2 is set to launch in early access on September 6, with the full game releasing to everyone on September 9 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Those who ordered the Collector’s Edition will also get:
- Collector’s Case with unique artwork
- Lieutenant Titus: an 8.25 x 6.7″ resin statue, finely painted and detailed
- The game’s official Steelbook
- The Art and Making of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 in English: 172 pages diving deeper into the work behind making the game
- The game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on the platform of choice (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions will be shipped as physical copies, with a Focus Entertainment Store-exclusive box art. The PC version will be sent digitally as a Steam download code)
