The upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2 will be console exclusive to the PlayStation 5 (PS5) for at least a year. The reveal comes via the game’s latest trailer from PlayStation.
At the end of the trailer — you can watch it below — there is a message for players. In a short and simple statement, the video reads, “Not available on other formats until 10.08.2025.”
That means those hoping for an Xbox release will have to wait at least until next year. That said, there’s no confirmation that it will come to Xbox when the window opens up.
Regarding the new trailer itself, it’s all about the game’s immersion on PS5 (as the title would suggest). Specifically, it looks at the way the game will utilize the features available on the DualSense controller. That includes things like Adaptive Triggers, Haptic Feedback, and a dynamic lightbar for things like your health. There will be 3D Audio support.
Silent Hill 2 remake launches October 8 for PS5 and PC. Players have the option to buy the Standard Edition for $69.99 or the Deluxe Edition for $79.99. Those who pick up the Deluxe Edition can starting playing starting October 6 as well get a digital artbook, digital soundtrack, and more.
