During PlayStation’s State of Play event today, Sega revealed that Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will release on August 29, 2025.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance’s announcement arrived with a new trailer showcasing the upcoming 2D action platformer’s gameplay. The gameplay focuses on quick and explosive combat and intense platforming sequences. The game features a unique hand-drawn style created by the team behind Streets of Rage 4.
In Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, players will take on the role of the legendary shinobi, Joe Musashi. He is a master of the ninja arts and is on an impossible mission to avenge his clan after he finds his village burned to the ground and his family and friends turned into stone.
The game will feature different types of Ninja arts, including Katana Oborozuki, Kunai, Ninjutsu arts, and Ninpo, which players will use to take on a variety of enemies. Combos and Unique Moves are your friends; you must find Amulets to unlock enhanced abilities for even more power. There are Ningi tools that you can find to unlock new paths.
Regarding Shinobi: Art of Vengeance’s exploration, players can explore “more than a dozen unique and visually striking stages.” These options include military bases, scorching deserts, platforming puzzles, and hidden secrets.
