Sentinels Unsure of Future in Halo, Says Bubu Dubu

In a clip captured during a recent stream, Jesse ‘bubu dubu’ Moeller explained that he and his squad are being dropped by Sentinels in the Halo Championship Series. He also explained that the organisation is uncertain of its future in the Halo scene, prompting concerns from fans.

Sentinels has yet to make a comment about these claims, but the organisation is notorious for being radio silent where the Halo ecosystem is concerned.

Moving On

In a short clip captured while broadcasting a ‘Health & Fitness’ stream, Sentinels’ bubu dubu said:

Sentinels pretty much told us that we are all – like my entire team – are unrestricted free agents, and we are available to explore. They’re pretty much undecided if they’re going to field a team for year four, you know?

Sentinels is far from being one of the winningest teams in the Halo space. In 2022, the organisation won the Kansas City Major, beating Cloud9 in a 4 – 0 sweep in the grand finals to secure a $140,000 prize. Since then, not much has happened for the organisation.

Most recently, the team finished in fifth place at the Halo World Championship tournament in Seattle.

Regardless of the team’s stature, it would be a blow to the Halo Championship Series to see the organisation cut away and move on. Sentinels has had a place in the HCS since it was reborn a few years ago, and it has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in gaming, like FaZe Clan and OpTic Gaming.

It has been a rocky few years for the Halo esports scene, despite 343 Industries (now Halo Studios) and Esports Engine trying to set up a solid competitive ecosystem and attract fans worldwide to attend a series of high-profile events.

Would you be sad to see the back of Sentinels in the Halo Championship Series? Let us know on the Insider Gaming forum.
