Today, during Sony’s press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES®), co-creator, screenwriter and executive producer Neil Druckmann announced that the second season of the Emmy®-winning HBO original drama series THE LAST OF US will premiere in April. The seven-episode season will be available on Max and the HBO channel.
Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s past catches up with them, leading to a conflict between them and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left. If you’re a fan of the franchise, you already know what events are likely to happen in this new season. One of the most striking scenes in the franchise, if not the most striking, is due to take place in this new batch of episodes.
The returning cast for this second season includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy and Rutina Wesley as Maria. The series will also feature new names such as Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen and Danny Ramirez as Manny. Catherine O’Hara will also make a guest appearance.
