Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 (PS5) Pro and the special 30th Anniversary Edition PS5 Pro went live on Thursday, and scalpers have already swooped in to ruin it for everyone else.
In less then a few hours, listings of the 30th Anniversary Edition of the PS5 Pro have gone up on eBay for thousands more than retail price. These listings range from a (modest) 173% markup to an incredible 952% markup depending on the listing.
It’s worth noting that this is before the pre-orders in the United States are live as these are based on UK pre-orders that opened earlier today. There’s a good chance things only get worse when the US market opens sales.
The PS5 Pro launches officially on November 7, 2024. Should you be able to get the standard PS5 Pro console at a traditional outlet, it will cost you $699/£699.99/€799.99 before taxes. If you are looking to get a limited edition 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro, it’s going to cost you well over $900 based on the UK price being £959.00.
