Format
For this year’s format, we get to see eight teams from the bottom 16 seeds compete against the top eight seeds. Although, there will still be a Swiss stage, where all 16 teams will compete against each other.
The top eight Swiss teams will then be seeded into a single-elimination bracket. What is interesting in this year’s tournament, is the top four Swiss teams will start with two chances before the final four, where teams ranked 5th-8th will only have one life when competing.
That extra life definitely gives the top four Swiss teams a heavy advantage, adding quite a bit of pressure against the other teams. This tournament series is already looking to be incredibly competitive.
