The PC port of Returnal, Housemarque’s latest title, is finally confirmed. The third-person action shooter with roguelike systems is heading to a new platform after being a Playstation 5 exclusive for more than a year now.
The shooter became one of the surprises in the PS5 exclusive line-up when it launched back in April 30th, 2021. Steam updates leaked the likely release which has been confirmed by this oddly short announcement in The Game Awards pre-show.
The previous leak essentially confirms the game’s release on Steam, but it’s also likely coming to Epic Games Store, as most of the other Playstation ports have.
Returnal joins the ever-growing list of Sony titles on the PC platform, which have been doing extremely well. Recently Spiderman: Remastered and Spiderman: Miles Morales were released and were very well received.
Returnal is Housemarque’s biggest project, a beautiful looking third-person shooter with a bizarre story that is told in a very unique roguelike way. The quick action sequences should translate very well to Keyboard and Mouse, let’s see how the port will look.
No release date has been announced as of yet. Here’s the announcement trailer:
Playstation has been betting more and more on the PC platform, and Returnal will likely just be one of many more to come. Recently, Polyphony Digital themselves mentioned that they’re “considering” porting Gran Turismo 7 to PC, a game that has never left the Playstation consoles.
