How to Respec Skills in Black Myth: Wukong

As is common in any game with RPG elements, especially a Soulslike in which your build does make a difference, the ability to pick and choose skills and return later to alter your decision is paramount. It allows for greater experimentation and, for people like me who die frequently to the same boss repeatedly, gives us a fighting chance. Here’s how to respec in Black Myth: Wukong!

How to Respec Your Character

If you don’t like your current build, perhaps you find your skills don’t complement your playstyle, you can respec your character in Black Myth: Wukong. To do so, visit a Keeper’s Shrine and select “Self-Advance” from the menu, then choose “Reignite the Sparks.” This will allow you to reclaim the Sparks you’ve used.

You have two options here. You can either reclaim all sparks at once using the prompt in the center of the HUD, or you can choose any available skill trees and individually reclaim Sparks. The latter is most useful when you’re only dissatisfied with a single skill, allowing you to remove those Sparks and place them elsewhere without completely respecing your entire build.

Furthermore, there doesn’t appear to be any cost for using the respec feature. You can change everything on a whim, to better suit an upcoming boss battle, or just because you want to experiment with different abilities and passive buffs. Go crazy! But also let us know your favorite skills so that we can test them out for ourselves!

When to Respec

With zero cost associated with the respec feature in Black Myth: Wukong, there’s never a wrong time to change up your build and playstyle to suit individual situations better. For example, you may wish to respec after repeatedly falling victim to the same boss. I did that after dying to the White Clad Noble countless times.

Alternatively, you may want to respec because you feel squishy and didn’t place enough Spark into Robust Constitution, which moderately increases your health pool.

The game hands out Sparks like candy, so don’t be afraid to experiment!
