Last year, Red Bull hosted ‘League of Its Own’, a unique tournament that saw some of the biggest and best League of Legends teams take to a stage in Berlin. It was one of the most successful show matches in esports history, bringing in a peak viewer count of more than 500,000 users. The event was dominated by T1, fresh off a win at the 2023 World Championship – and the squad is reportedly looking to pull off a second win this time around.
Biggest Names in the Game
Several days ago, T1 secured the top spot at the Esports World Cup, netting a $400,000 prize following an intense playoffs round that saw the squad defeat Bilibili, Team Liquid, and Top Esports without breaking a sweat. It comes as no surprise that the team is now considered the frontrunner for the Red Bull League of Its Own tournament surfacing in December 2024.
This one-day event will host six teams invited from around the world, and so far, we know that Karmine Corp and T1 have secured a spot in the running. It’s an innovative tournament, with Red Bull applying some unexpected twists to the ruling, making it even more entertaining for the viewers – and a little more challenging for the competitors.
This year’s event will take place in Paris at the Accor Arena, with tickets starting at 40 EUR and running up to 110 EUR for ‘Premium’ tickets.
