PS5 Beta Comes On Thursday With A Number Of New Features

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a beta test for the PlayStation 5, enabling players to access new features such as personalized 3D audio profiles, remote play settings, and adaptive charging for their controllers. Learn more about these features and how to sign up for the PS5 beta below.

Enrolling in the PS5 beta is an exclusive opportunity. It will only be available for invited participants in select countries and will be released globally shortly. The players who are selected for the beta will receive an email invitation on July 25. However, some features showcased during the beta test may not make the Final Cut.

Personalized 3D Audio Profiles

This new feature allows players to create a personalized 3D audio profile for headphones and earbuds. Players invited to the PS5 beta can run sound quality tests to analyze many factors to create an audio profile that best suits their hearing characteristics. For example, players will have a “better sense of the positions of characters and objects in a game world more clearly than before,” which helps enhance immersion.

To access this feature, players must go to Settings, Sound, and 3D Audio headphones on the PS5 console. Then, follow the steps on the screen to create and save their audio profile. Players can create one audio profile per user and also select from the 3D Audio presets if they wish to.

Remote Play Settings

The PS5 Beta also adds new Remote Play settings per user, allowing them to choose individuals to connect to their console through this feature. To access the features, head to Settings, System, Remote Play, and Enable Remote Play. Here, you can choose which users you want to enable access to.

Adaptive Charging for PS5 Controllers

Players should know that this feature is only available for the beta testers using the latest PS5 console, which comes with a detachable disc drive. Adaptive charging for DualSense wireless controller, DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, and Access controller players can save power “by adjusting the time that power is supplied to your controller based on its battery level”.

This saves power and contributes to a more eco-friendly gaming experience. Players must enable this feature through the Features Available in Rest Mode menu and change the Supply Power to USB ports as Adaptive.

In other news, the latest PS5 firmware update added a ‘Share Link’ feature. Also, players recently saw some of No Man’s Sky’s PS5 Pro upgrade features through a datamine. What are your views on the PS5 Beta features? Let us know in the comments.
