Pokimane is Leaving Twitch After a Decade on the Platform

Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys has just announced on Twitter that she’s set to bid farewell to Twitch after more than a decade of streaming on the platform. As one of the site’s most sensational (and at times controversial) streamers, Pokimane has built up her empire over several years, amassing almost 10 million followers and covering everything from IRL streams to marathon playthroughs of games.

It’s not known what’s next for Pokimane at this point.

End of an Era

Pokimane has been one of Twitch’s most instantly recognisable faces for years, so it comes as quite a surprise that the content creator is seemingly departing the platform for unknown pastures. Here’s the tweet that she posted to break the news:

It seems to be a decision that was made with Twitch being kept in the know, as a few minutes after it was posted, Twitch commented:

What an incredible journey it’s been. We’re so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and what’s ahead in the future. You’ll always have a home on Twitch, Poki

Aside from these comments, nothing else was said on the matter. It’s not yet known if Pokimane is leaving for an exclusive deal on a competing platform, like YouTube or Kick, or if the insanely popular creator is giving up streaming altogether. Within an hour of posting the breaking news, Pokimane racked up more than 1.1 million impressions, with many of her fans pleading to know what’s coming next.

  • She coming to Kick she’s such a hypocrite she hated on Kick and said she’d never jump but she sold out! When will people hold her accountable this, the n-word situation, the cookie situation, the peso situation, her crazy fans it needs to stop.

  • Her contract ended so she’s probably testing the waters with YouTube, Kick, and even Rumble probably X too if Elon will pay her.
