Penguin Game Set in The Batman Universe is Coming, It’s Claimed

According to a new report via Puck, WB could be working on a new game based on the Penguin that is set in Matt Reeves’ popular The Batman universe.

The report claims that “various WBD divisions are beginning to collaborate more closely on properties like the upcoming Penguin HBO show and game, both seeded in the 2022 The Batman movie.”

They add that “when Zaslav took over, many advised him to offload games,” but Zaslav “still sees the games unit as strategic.”

At this time, official sources did not confirm anything about the potential Penguin game nor issue a statement about the report. Also, Insider Gaming has yet to independently verify the rumor.

Batman: Arkham Shadow Release Date

Further, Puck’s own report mentions that Zaslav’s “assessment could change soon” regarding Warner’s games unit. So, nothing is concrete about the Penguin game.

HBO plans to premiere its limited series based on Matt Reeves’ iteration of the Penguin in late September 2024. It will run for eight episodes, through November 2024.

HBO has already released a couple of trailers for the anticipated show. Many praised Colin Farrell as a highlight of Reeves’ The Batman film, and could certainly enjoy a game based on that version of the character.

Just last week, Meta Quest 3 exclusive Batman: Arkham Shadow also got a new gameplay trailer and an October 2024 release window.

  • No one wants this, the movies suck too why would we want a game tied to the bad movies and shows? Just hurry shut down WB Games and license out DC to other companies. Sell John Tobias’s studio to Microsoft and license Mortal Kombat to them or license Mortal Kombat to Sony have Santa Monica make a new Shaolin Monks.

  • Just sell to Tencent they’ll take it. No one wants this movie game I thought the days of that garbage were long behind us.
