After a bit of a hiccup on launch day, the start of Path of Exile 2’s early access release has been a massive success for developer Grinding Gear Games (GGG). Now, a few days after launch, GGG has post its response to various feedback and concerns they’ve received since Path of Exile 2 early access opened on December 6.
“The launch weekend has been a blast,” GGG said. “We’ve really enjoyed seeing all of you get your hands on the game and finally try out the project we have been working on for so long.
“But now that the launch weekend is over it’s time for us to look at the feedback and make some changes.”
Among the many changes — both planned and already in effect — are updates to checkpoints, dodge rolls, rare monsters, map mods, items, currency, and more.
On the topic of items and currency, GGG says it had feedback from players that the game “is not rewarding enough”. The team says that while it has to be careful when making adjustments, they have “identified a few key areas” that will “significantly improve the experience.”
On the currency front, a number of updates have been pushed out in order to give players more early in the game. This includes increasing regal orb rate drops by 40%, lesser Jewellers orb drops by 33%, and Gemcutter’s Prism drops by 500%, among other increases.
“There are still a lot more changes to come, these are just some of the changes that are fast for us to make,” GGG said. “We will be continuing to monitor feedback and adjusting things as we go.”
