In their latest update, Palworld developers have changed the behaviour of Pal Spheres while battling Nintendo’s patent infringement lawsuit.
Pal Spheres work like Pokeballs and capture and summon Pals in Palworld. However, after version v0.3.11 (spotted by NicheGamer), the Pal Spheres will have a different activation. Now, whenever a player uses a Pal Sphere, their Pal will be summoned near the player without them needing to throw the sphere. Also, the new update will display a reticle while aiming.
According to the latest developments on Nintendo’s lawsuit against Palworld, the former has alleged that the latter has infringed three different patents and is seeking damages of 10 million Yen (approximately USD 66,000). Pocket Pair replied, stating they “will continue to assert our position in this case through future legal proceedings” in the lawsuit.
In other news, Palworld is getting its biggest island yet in December, which is about six times bigger than Sakurajima. Also, Palworld has finally launched for PS5 consoles in Japan. Leave it to Nintendo to figure out a successful formula for a game and then prevent anyone else from using that same platform. The greed from this company is out of control. Spending millions of dollars to prevent someone else from making millions of dollars AND claiming damages on top of it!? Disgusting business practice by Nintendo.
Terrible, the change is terrible, your pal glitches into the ground, which is highly annoying when in a battle, as you have to recall your pal then try again from another angle. It’s so frustrating.
U have nothing else to do? Keep sueing thats the money source u get from huh
Zelda and Mario are all Nintendo has going for them. Why not patent breakable weapons? Why not patent have a protagonistic hero controlled by the character? Why not patent having a side scrolling level design?
Oh right because you have to pick your battles to set precedent. That’s all the lawsuit is about. Looking forward to boycotting all future Nintendo titles.
Wait till Nintendo finds out people will just mod that change back out, greedy ass company first they over charge for thier games including ones that they barely put any effort into seriously rember when pokemon used to have so much more, I could actually get lost
I love playing both Palworld and Pokémon. As I sit here reading about the lawsuit, all Nintendo had to do was ask the creators of Palworld to change some things in the game. Like with the sphere, with them looking like pokeballs all they had to do was make them a different shape and so on. I will still play both games as I said in the beginning I love them both.
