Outer Wilds Is Finally Coming To Nintendo Switch

Outer Wilds is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch in the form of the Outer Wilds Archaeologist Edition on December 7.

The announcement was made during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase event on Tuesday.

Originally slated for a release on the console back in summer 2021, the game was delayed on the platform indefinitely. Now, over two years later, players who have been waiting to see it on the hybrid console will finally get the chance to play.

“Strap on your hiking boots, check your oxygen levels, and get ready to venture into space,” the game’s trailer description reads. “Use a variety of unique gadgets to probe your surroundings, track down mysterious signals, decipher ancient alien writing, and roast the perfect marshmallow.”

The Outer Wilds Archaeologist Edition comes with the base game along with the Echoes of the Eye expansion pack. Pre-orders for the game open on Tuesday via the Nintendo eShop. The game will also receive a physical release for the console in 2024.
