Treyarch has confirmed that Nuketown will arrive in Black Ops 6 one week after the game has hit the market. The legendary map, which has found a place in every Black Ops game in one way or another, will appear on November 1, 2024. The return of this fan-favourite map was confirmed with a brief teaser trailer showcasing the instantly recognisable environment.
Timeless
Nuketown has existed since 2010’s Black Ops, and since then, it has popped up in every successful game in the Black Ops series. It’s returning in Black Ops 6, but it won’t be added to the game until one week after the title has been released. That means users will have seven days to bolster their loadouts before jumping into what will assumedly be a 24/7 rotation of Nuketown.
From the teaser that was posted on social media, Nuketown looks similar to past iterations, which isn’t the most typical way that the map has been handled in previous games. Traditionally, each game will offer a unique spin on the map, fitting it into their part of the timeline or setting, but Black Ops 6’s Nuketown doesn’t look too ‘special’ at first blush:
When Black Ops 6 is released, every map will be original, and the only maps that players will have any familiarity with will be the ones that cropped up in the beta that unravelled several weeks ago. It’s nice that Nuketown is making an appearance, as it’ll give players something comfortable to gravitate to.
