The hyped Nintendo Switch 2 event revealed that GameCube games are coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service. This includes a ton of classic franchises, including Mario, Pokémon, Luigi’s Mansion, and much more.
Amongst the key Nintendo Switch 2 details, including its release date, new first-party games, and graphical features, we also learned that Nintendo Switch Online is adding a ton of retro games to the already stellar library.
Nintendo has slowly cultivated a library of antique titles from NES and SNES games to big-time eras such as the Mega Drive and Nintendo 64. Now, it’s the turn of the GameCube to come to Nintendo Switch Online.
Nintendo Switch 2 Brings GameCube Library

Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Chibi-Robo, Luigi’s Mansion, and Pokémon Coliseum are some of the titles already confirmed for Nintendo Switch Online’s GameCube integration.

The Nintendo GameCube is considered one of Nintendo’s many incredible eras of gaming. For instance, Super Mario Sunshine had the tough task of following Super Mario 64 and did so with flying colors. A stream of legendary titles followed, and we expect this is only the beginning of the GameCube rollout.
It’s understandable to be excited about the Nintendo Switch 2 and its awe-inspiring AAA titles: Donkey Kong Bananza, The Duskbloods, and Mario Kart World. Let’s not forget the classics, though, eh?
