UPDATE: After the blog post began to make the rounds regarding an April 2 pre-order date for Nintendo Switch 2, Best Buy Canada has taken the article offline.
Insider Gaming has reached out to Nintendo about the post and removal.

ORIGINAL: If you are waiting to buy the next Nintendo console, you won’t have to wait much longer. According to an online store posting, Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders will begin on April 2.
That just so happens to be the same day as the Nintendo Direct event dedicated to the Switch 2.
Best Buy Canada published a blog post on Thursday reminding people of the event. In the post, it let everyone know that pre-orders will open that same day.

“Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will open on April 2nd at Best Buy Canada, giving you the chance to secure your console early,” the post reads.
What isn’t mentioned is the exact release date or price for the console. That information, however, will be announced during the Direct.
It’s also worth noting that Nintendo has yet to confirm that pre-orders for the console will open on the same day of the event. That said, if an official store—especially one as large as Best Buy—is posting about it, it seems all but confirmed.
As far as a release date goes, many, including Insider Gaming’s own sources, believe that the system will launch sometime in June. Rumors also speculate that it will be priced around $400-$450, though there has been nothing official to back those claims as of publishing.
Regarding any upcoming games, Insider Gaming exclusively reported that the current plan is to release launch window games in three phases.
