Several users have leaked details on the Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program online.
The leaks started on X (formerly Twitter) with user @Ethan_ThisGuy, who shared several images of the playtest’s contents. Nintendo quickly DMCA’d the content, but mirrors and other users have since uploaded the photos.
The images read, “In this game, the goal is to work with others to fully “develop” a massive, expansive planet by utilising creativity and farmed resources. As you progress across the planet, you’ll discover new lands, enemies, and resources that will become essential in your journey.”
It continues, “Throughout your adventure, players will be granted special tools known as Beacons. These Beacons emit a heating light that purifies and developers the land. The higher your Beacon is placed, the wider its Beacon Zone becomes. Within your Beacon Zone, your best work can be done. Players will repeat this process until their current Planetary Block is considered fully developed.”
Images and details from the leaks suggest that the game is going to be a Nintendo MMO, with the visually on-brand in a cartoony fashion. Images of the leaks can be found over on /r/GamingLeaksAndRumours
The Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program is scheduled to take place between October 24 and November 6.
