Recently, a clip surfaced on social media revealing that the fabled NICKMERCS Call of Duty skin had been added back to the store ahead of the impending release of Verdansk in Warzone. In 2023, the skin went on sale before being removed just one day later after NICKMERCS made some inflammatory comments online.
In a recent report, it was claimed that Activision’s representatives confirmed something damning. It was stated that the skin appeared by way of a store glitch, and it was only visible to hackers who already owned the bundle.
Whoever uploaded those clips to social media is likely getting hot under the collar about now.
Odd Glitch
In an article from Dexerto, the story was set straight by Activision’s representatives – apparently.
It was claimed that the NICKMERCS skin resurfacing was due to a store glitch and not a deliberate intention of Activision to bring the super-sized content creator back to Call of Duty. The error has since been patched out and the unavailable skin pack is hidden again, so it’s bad luck if you were hoping to snag it ahead of Verdansk being added back into the game.
In a post that gained more than 600,000 impressions on Twitter, ItsHapa shared a clip that was ‘sent to him by a viewer’ showing the bundle in the store:
🚨THEY BROUGHT IT BACK!!!🚨 @CallofDuty brought back the @NICKMERCS bundle?! Does that mean that @Activision is okay with leaving the kids alone now? vid sent to me by a viewer several minutes ago
The ‘viewer’ who shared the clip is named in the video as ‘N2N’, a rank 450 Warzone player with a Terminator skin and Dark Matter on his rifle. That’s a lot of progress for a player who, as Dexerto’s insider claims, is a hacker. It’s good to see that the RICOCHET anti-cheat engine is working well.
