Ubisoft has revealed its Assassin’s Creed VR project dubbed ‘Assassin’s Creed Nexus’ at Ubisoft Forward.
First revealed by Meta Quest’s social media team, it was stated that players will be able to become assassins in Assassin’s Creed Nexus, ‘an all-new game built exclusively for VR’. You can watch the new trailer here:
Insider Gaming understands that the team behind Assassin’s Creed Nexus is over the moon with the game and is already planning its sequel. The pre-planning of Nexus 2 is part of Ubisoft’s drive to go “all in” on the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Insider Gaming was told from its sources. In addition to a VR sequel, three more unannounced Assassin’s Creed games are also in development.
Codenamed Nebula, Raid, and Echoes, each of the pitched Assassin’s Creed titles will be developed by different studios and will have vastly different playstyles from its predecessors.
Insider Gaming understands that after the release of Nexus and Mirage, Codename Red will be the next to be released. Codename Red is reportedly already in good shape, sources told Insider Gaming, with its ‘spin’ on the series set to have two playable characters and the game will have a strong focus on stealth.
