It has been confirmed that the new Warzone map taking on a small-form size fit for Resurgence is called ‘Area 99’. This solidifies earlier rumours about the map’s identity, but while we now know what it’ll be called, we don’t know too much more about the map.
Back in June, insiders claimed that Area 99 would be released during Black Ops 6’s lifecycle, but it was never set in stone exactly when it would drop.

It’ll give us the lowdown on Black Ops 6, as well as offering a look at other titles like Call of Duty Mobile and competitive elements like the Call of Duty League.
It was confirmed in an image shared on Twitter by CharlieIntel that the map will be revealed in full at Call of Duty: Next, an event that’ll include live gameplay and a deep dive into the map’s features with Raven Software.
In recent news, Activision confirmed that it’ll be separating Call of Duty Warzone from the wider Call of Duty hub to run it as a separate product and cut down on installation sizes.
It can be argued that the small-form Warzone maps are more popular than the larger environments. This map is sure to be a winner based on that alone, but we’ll know much more for certain on August 28, when Call of Duty: Next takes place.

Small-form map size for warzone makes it an automatic winner? Have you played Vondel or Ashika? Both of those maps are trash. Ashika was universally panned and Vondel has very mixed reviews.
Boooo, not everyone likes resurgence or a small map. Not sure where this info comes from. They need to bring verdansk back and give us what we want
They probably pulled the data from the current warzone because Urka-durka is trash compared to previous Warzone maps. AND THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US BIG MAP RANKED. So this forced alot of the player base to settle for resurgence modes. Not that we like them, we just have lack of viable options when resurgence is being jammed down our throats.
