The Vegas Falcons aired a new roster as the CDL’s Major III qualifiers kicked off, but the bolstered squad wasn’t enough to overcome a dominant Vancouver Surge. The latest 0-3 loss now puts Vegas Falcons on a 0-20 losing streak in the Call of Duty League, which continues the organisation’s legacy as the worst team in COD esports history.
It’s a painful point to report on, as fans were desperately hoping that the revitalised roster would be able to clutch up something, somewhere.
Falcons Down
In the last few days, the Vegas Falcons revealed a new roster fleshed out with world championship winners – Pred, Arcitys, and Priestahh. It might seem like a random combination on paper, and it seemed like the camaraderie and chemistry is far from being cemented as Vancouver Surge handed the new roster a brutal 0-3 loss.
That’s not a surprise though – the team was assembled mere days ago and they’ve been forced up against one of the best teams on the board right now.
The Falcons were unable to respond on any of the three maps, succumbing dramatically quickly against the team that landed a second-place finish at the recent Major II tournament.
At this point, it’ll take a miracle for the Vegas Falcons to make it to COD Champs, which is nuts for Pred, especially, who mere months ago was lifting the Call of Duty League Championship trophy in Texas while flying the OpTic flag. That reason alone is enough for many to surmise that one hell of a bag has been offered by the Saudi-backed Vegas Falcons to secure these players.
In a twist of fate, Exnid was the star player as the Vegas Falcons took a beating. As the sole Saudi Arabian player left on the roster after the Falcons cleaned out, Exnid might have found himself feeling like a fish out of water, but he’s handling the changes gracefully.
It’s a sad day for the Vegas Falcons, now sitting on a never-before-seen 0-20 losing streak. Will the organisation go yet another CDL Major without winning a single series?
