New Naughty Dog Game To Be More Like A TV Show

Whenever the next new Naughty Dog game gets released, fans will see something during development that they haven’t seen from the studio before.

In an interview with The New Yorker, Neil Druckman, Naughty Dog co-president, says that the next game from the studio will be “structured more like a TV show” than any other prior game.

In the past, Druckman had been responsible for writing game stories himself. With the next game, Druckman has already begun assembling a team of writers to help create the story. He didn’t give any more details than that, including whether or not the assembled team consists of past TV writers or a group of traditional game writers.

Naughty Dog’s next new game has yet to be announced. That said, there is speculation that it will be The Last of Us 3. No matter what the game ends up being, it’s sure to be a big deal for fans.

Currently, The Last of Us is getting ready for its show adaptation release on HBO Max. The show will feature Joel and Ellie as Joel attempts to escort Ellie across the post-apocalyptic United States. While the show will rely heavily on the source material, Druckman did say that some changes are being made for the show.

One of those changes includes Joel having a few more ailments than in the game such as being hard of hearing. Another is allowing the viewer to learn more about the relationship between Bill and Frank.

The Last of Us premieres on HBO Max on January 16.
