With its release just days away, Vertigo Games has released the first seven minutes of gameplay from Metro Awakening.
The gameplay, which you can watch below, contains the prologue for the game.
“Written by Metro author and creator Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Awakening plunges players into the unforgiving, post-apocalyptic world of Metro through immersive VR, unveiling the origin story of Khan, one of the franchise’s most beloved and intriguing characters,” the game’s description says.
The game will act as a prequel to 2010’s Metro 2033.
In his preview of the game, Insider Gaming’s Grant Taylor-Hill said that Metro Awakening feels “true to the franchise” despite it being a VR game.
“I can’t stress how true to the franchise Metro Awakening remains,” he said. “It helps that it has always been an immersive FPS series, but the VR perspective takes things one step further, planting you as close to the post-apocalyptic world as you’d ever want to be.
