Konami producers revealed that Metal Gear Solid 3: Remake’s difficulty will differ depending on players’ viewpoint.
In an interview with Famitsu (via VGC), game producer Noriaki Okamura and creative producer Yuji Korekado discussed the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake’s two new perspectives, ‘New Style’ and ‘Legacy Style,’ and how the difficulty level will vary between the two modes.
Korekado spoke about how Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake was supposed to have a feature that allowed players to switch between the two modes whenever they wanted but decided against that in the end. He explained that the difficulty level changes depending on players’ viewpoint; hence, that decision was scrapped.
Having a wider, linear view and the ability to shoot your gun when moving Snake reduces the New Style’s difficulty. However, if the difficulties for New Style and Legacy Style were matched in Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, the latter would become “too difficult”. Therefore, the developers decided to split these two modes.
Metal Gear Sold 3: Remake’s Legacy Style will have a difficulty level closer to the original game, whereas the developers will adjust the New Style’s difficulty from scratch.
In other news, Konami producers also revealed that Metal Gear Solid 1/2 would be harder to remake. Also, pre-orders for the $700 ‘Big Boss Requiem’ statue from Metal Gear Solid 3 are live now.
