Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Release Date Seemingly Leaked by GameStop

One of the most popular retail gaming and trade-in companies for games, systems, consoles and accessories might have made a big blunder last night.

Soon after the Ubisoft Forward 2024, GameStop took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater pre-orders have gone live on their website. In the same, now-deleted post, GameStop also mentioned a release date for the game, set for November 17, 2024.

What’s interesting is that Konami has yet to mention any release date for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Which begs the question, why did GameStop go for November 17, 2024? Interestingly, this isn’t a random date and is closely related to the game. November 17, 2004, was when the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was released, and according to GameStop’s tweet, the remake could be released on its 20th anniversary. Also, earlier claims stated that the game should arrive in 2025. However, it could easily be a mistake at GameStop’s end, which could be why the post was deleted or if GameStop was on to something.

Konami was present at the Xbox Games Showcase event recently, where they unveiled a brand new trailer for the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. The developers are rebuilding the original game’s narrative, characters, voice actors, gameplay, and music for modern consoles and systems. The title is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, bringing realistic environment details and character models to the table.

Additionally, Snake’s clothes go through wear and tear when damaged during the battle, thanks to the upgrades to the battle system. The bruises and bullet wounds from these battles will be reflected on the body, and injuries will leave a mark permanently.

Moreover, you can choose to use the modern control style or go for the classic controls for the most nostalgic experience. There are new viewing angles for the player, too. The new style is a third-person view, and the Legacy Style brings the classic overhead view into the picture. Interested readers can learn more about the game editions for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater here.
