Merge Games has announced that it will be closing down after 15 years of publishing games.
The announcement came earlier today on X (formerly Twitter), which read,
“Hello! After 15 years, Merge Games is closing down.
Starting from tiny, cramped attic and growing to a tight, multi-disciplined 22 person team, we’ve brought hundreds of indie gems to storefronts around the world and loved every moment of it!
We couldn’t have done it without people passionate about indie games, from all of our developers all the way to you folks, the players!
If you see someone from Merge, just know that they’re an incredible person that worked their hardest.
Thank you for many years of gaming!”
Since its inception, Merge Games has published various games, including the physical version of Dead Cells, Small and Survive the Wilds, Bramble: The Mountain King, the physical version of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, and more. However, its parent company, Maximum Entertainment, will now manage any upcoming releases that were under Merge Games before its closure.
