Lords of the Fallen was released to a relatively positive reception in October 2023, and today, the final major update for the game is being released – Master of Fate. There’s a lot packed into this update, including tweaks that give players the ability to make the game a roguelite (in a way). Now, CI Games is preparing to focus on future instalments in the series.
One Hell of an Update
There’s a stack of content being introduced to Lords of the Fallen with Master of Fate, which effectively marks the completion of the post-launch roadmap for the popular soulslike. Improvements have been made across the board, difficulty balancing has been performed, new questlines have been added, fresh armour and weapon sets are available to unlock, and improved boss counters are waiting for those still playing Lords of the Fallen.
With new projectiles, spells, abilities, and strikes being introduced to Lords of the Fallen, more ways to fight than ever before will be unlocked. Here’s the official spiel on the Master of Fate update:
‘Master of Fate imbues power directly into players’ hands, allowing them to fully customize their game experience. The modifier system, while not for the fainthearted, can even be enabled from the very first playthrough of Lords of the Fallen, throwing down the gauntlet to action-RPG veterans new to the game. Among the seven different modifiers available to players are randomized enemy spawns and loot drops, together with an Ironman mode; with these three modifiers enabled, Lords of the Fallen effectively becomes a roguelite.‘
That alone could be enough to entice players to come back to the game.
The Master of Fate update is available to download now on all platforms.
