The Global Head for LoL Esports at Riot Games, Naz Aletaha, has announced her departure through a new post on X (formerly Twitter). After working for Riot Games for around 12 and a half years, Naz Aletaha is ready to begin the next chapter in her career.
Through a post titled “A Grateful Farewell,” Naz Aletaha announced her departure from Riot. Aletaha stated that the decision wasn’t easy, given the many accomplishments during her tenure, but it was time for Aletaha to explore new horizons. Aletaha also talks about the early days. He said LoL esports was a “bold dream amid a sea of scepticism,” Now they have managed to fill arenas, break records, and build one of the most significant esports communities.
According to a report by Strafe, Aletaha was hired by Riot in 2012 as a Senior Manager in Business Development before she took over the position of the Global Head for LoL esports in 2021. Prior to her journey with Riot, Aletaha was employed by Activision, another big name in the business.
During her time as the Global Esports head for LoL, they accomplished some massive feats. Still, the most significant was bringing a peak viewership of over 6.4 million viewers to the League of Legends 2023 world championship.
Before her departure, Aletaha announced that she was taking a break through the Riot sabbatical program, stating that she would be out for a few months and return to close out the 14th season. However, before we could see that happen, Aletaha announced her exit from the company. It will be interesting to see where her journey takes her next.
