Logitech Reveals New Astro A50 Lightspeed Wireless Headset

Logitech has unveiled the Logitech G Astro A50 Lightspeed headset during Logi Play 2024, uncovering what might be a frontrunner for the best and most premium gaming headset ever made. For the longest time, the Astro platform has been considered the pinnacle of accessible gaming audio technology, but the new A50 Lightspeed is pushing that concept further than ever.

Stunning Technology

The new Astro A50 Lightspeed isn’t for those who hate spending money, considering it’ll set you back $299.99 for the standard unit. That will get you the headset itself and the base station that’s used for charging and connectivity.

Per the latest information from Logitech, the Astro A50 Lightspeed boasts ‘groundbreaking improvements’ over the most recent iteration of the headset. It’s a full-fledged, multi-platform device that features PlaySync Audio, Pro-G graphene drivers, and an impressive 16-bit 48 kHz microphone.

With PlaySync, users can connect to multiple devices at once, switching between them at the press of a button.

On a single charge, the Astro A50 Lightspeed will run for around 24 hours, providing some of the most high-fidelity audio possible while doing so. When paired with Logitech’s G Hub software, the Astro A50 Lightspeed becomes an indomitable audio-based beast, fully customisable at the press of a button.

At 363 grams, the Astro A50 Lightspeed isn’t a lightweight headset, but it features some of the most high-quality padding you’ll find on the market, and it’s still a solid headset for esports pro players sitting down for hours at a time.

It might have one of the most premium price points in the wide world of gaming headsets, but the Logitech G Astro A50 Lightspeed is worth every penny to the hardcore gamer.

It’s set to launch in October 2024 – get those pre-orders in now.
