How to level up fast in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

If you’ve made it this far to learn how to level up quickly in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, we’ve got your back! Leveling up fast in an RPG is a top priority for many players because, let’s face it, there’s nothing better than breezing through challenges without breaking a sweat, right?

However, some RPGs have different experience and leveling systems, and that’s precisely the case with Dragon Age: The Veilguard. In this game, you can earn XP in various ways, and there’s a “secret” tip to maximize your experience gain.

How to Level Up Quickly in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

First off, let’s chat about the traditional methods for leveling up in the game. You’ve got two main paths: completing quests and defeating enemies.

The new BioWare game features three types of quests: main quests, companion quests, and faction quests. As you finish up the main quests, new side quests pop up in each faction’s cities and at the Lighthouse. The ones at the Lighthouse are tied to your allies.

It’s a good idea to mix those side quests with the main ones to maximize your XP gain and, of course, to keep your gear up to snuff while you’re journeying through the main story.

Beyond the quests, we’ve got enemy encounters. I’ve noticed that this doesn’t work in Dragon Age, unlike other RPGs where you can grind for XP. A relatively small number of enemies are on the map, and they don’t give out that much XP.

And here comes the “secret” tip. In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you can find manuscripts that act as collectibles. These manuscripts add entries to your journal, giving you more details about the game world. Each manuscript you pick up gives you 100 XP.

Exploring every nook and cranny and keeping a lookout for these collectibles is the best way to speed up your level. In Treviso, for instance, one of the starting towns, I found 4 of them in just 5 minutes, racking up 400 XP without breaking a sweat. The game has plenty of manuscripts, so stay alert for them!
