LEGO Super Mario World & Shadow the Hedgehog Sets Revealed

Two new LEGO sets based on popular video game series have surfaced this week, including a Shadow the Hedgehog bust and Super Mario World set. Both sets are expected to release on October 1, 2024.

The Shadow the Hedgehog bust will include over 700 pieces, with a price tag of $69.99. LEGO lists it as a set for adult builders, and it comes with a display stand and nameplate.

It also includes some neat easter eggs “including a Chaos Emerald and 3 Gold Rings, hidden in the build.” Fans can follow a digital version of the building instructions with the LEGO Builder app.

The Super Mario World set is unrelated to the popular and interactive “Adventures” product line. Instead, the new set emulates the 2D pixel art of the classic video game.

Although the official LEGO site doesn’t have pictures and details for the set up yet, those did surface via Jay’s Brick Blog. Twitter user Wario64 also posted their set pictures on X.

According to details on Jay’s Brick Blog, the “Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi” set features over 1200 pieces. Although the set is intended for display purposes, there is a small lever that makes Yoshi stick their tongue out.

These sets join a packed October release schedule, as LEGO only just announced real-world Fortnite sets for October 2024 too. Those Fortnite sets are already available for pre-order.
