League of Legends Worlds 2024 Tournament Guide

Are you ready for League of Legends Worlds 2024? This tournament is long, with some of the best League teams from around the world competing against each other for a massive prize pool. Here is everything you need to know about League Worlds, including a tournament prize pool, tournament format and more.


League Worlds Prize Pool

With League of Legends being one of the biggest esports in the entire world, one can only expect its World Championship to have a massive prize pool. And well, it is. $2,250,000 in total will be given to competitors.

Prize Pool Breakdown:

  • 1st: $450,000
  • 2nd: $360,000
  • 3rd-4th: $180,000
  • 5th-8th: $101,250
  • 9th-11th: $78,750
  • 12th-14th: $67,500
  • 15th-16th: $56,250
  • 17th-18th: $39,375
  • 19th-20th: $22,500

League Worlds Tournament Format And Structure

  1. The tournament format and structure will begin with a Stage 1 (Play-In) event, where eight teams compete against each other. All teams will be drawn into two double-elimination brackets with matches being best-of-three. Losing teams from Upper Round 2 will play winning teams from Lower Round 1 of the other bracket. The top four teams will advance to Stage 2.
  2. After Stage 1, Stage 2 (Swiss) will begin with 16 teams participating. The Stage will be a Swiss-style format with five rounds. Matchups will be drawn at the end of each round with teams with three wins advancing to Stage 3. Any team with three losses will be eliminated from the tournament. Qualification and elimination matches are best-of-three, while all other matches are best-of-one.
  3. After Stage 2, will be the final stage, Stage 3 (Knockout). This Stage will consist of eight qualifying teams from Stage 2 and will be a single-elimination. All matches will be a best-of-five.

So, when is the tournament series happening? Well, League Worlds is long, beginning in September 2024 and ending in November 2024.
