LCS Announces American League: The LTA

With so much news revolving around the LCS (League Championship Series), a new league was officially announced today which takes place in the Americas. The LTA, which stands for “League of Legends Championship of the Americas,” is a new competitive League of Legends league that will focus solely on teams located in the Americas.

Here is everything we know.

LCS Announces the LTA: Every Region Involved and More

The new LTA series will be made up of three specific competitive regions: Brazil, Latin America and North America. The three regions will officially be combined for one Americas league, with the best and biggest teams and competitors from each region taking part.

The LTA will begin in 2025.

All Conferences

The LTA will be made up of two separate conferences, which will both have live audiences in the Riot Games arenas. One conference will be held in Los Angeles, California while the other will be held in São Paulo, Brazil.

All LTA North Teams:

  • Cloud9
  • Team Liquid Honda
  • Flyquest
  • Shopify Rebellion
  • Dignitas
  • 100 Thieves
  • Lyon Gaming
  • Disguised

Some of the teams listed above, however, will only be Provisional Guest Teams, meaning they do not hold a franchised spot within the league.

All LTA South Teams:

  • Fluxo
  • Furia
  • Loud
  • Pain Gaming
  • Red Canids Kalunga
  • Vivo Keyd Stars
  • Leviatan
  • Isurus

The LTA will also be adding some additional flexibility, allowing each team to claim a member from across the Americas to be considered a local resident, allowing teams to participate in matches across regions.

The majority of competitors, however, will not be able to compete from outside their home region.

All Splits

The series will have three splits that will take place throughout the year. Each split will have its own set of rules that are unique and different from each other.

All splits will include different tournament formats, with some being Round Robins while others will be double-elimination, etc.

Finals

Where Finals are held will alternate throughout the year. Split 1 will have its Finals in Brazil will Split 3 will have its Finals in North America. This will flip-flop going into 2026.

While some of this information may be confusing, League of Legends esports has stated that they will reveal more information about the LTA later.
