IShowSpeed Breaks Viewer Count Record Following ‘Car Crash’ Stream

IShowSpeed, the divisive, aggressive streamer best known for his over-the-top antics and controversial performances, has just broken his peak viewer count record. He’s on something of a world tour of late, and his most recent stop has been in Thailand, during which he has been spending hours going wild in front of a camera.

It was revealed that he hit a peak count of 610,000 users, which is a fair distance past his previous record of 548,000 users. He secured the previous record while attending 2023’s Ballon D’or ceremony.

Into a Wall

On September 9, IShowSpeed appeared on stream in Thailand climbing into the driver’s seat of a ‘Tuk Tuk’. Moments after assuming control of the vehicle, he ploughed into a wall, with the claim being that he had no idea how to drive a manual vehicle (with a clutch).

It made for great watching, but many believed it was nothing more than a bit, which gels nicely with IShowSpeed’s traditional operating model.

Previously, he has leapt over speeding cars, lit fireworks in his bedroom, and ‘accidentally’ exposed himself on stream.

In a relatively short period, IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., has soared up the streamer charts. He has gone from being a content creator broadcasting the occasional game of Fortnite to a superstar streamer appearing on-screen during live WWE events and meeting superstar athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo.

What’s your opinion of IShowSpeed? Are you a fan or does he get on your nerves?
