Balatro sucked me in within minutes of playing. It’s the kind of game that is instantly accessible but takes a long time to master. The concept of juggling Jokers and collecting cards is overwhelming at first. But it gets easier as time goes and Balatro’s core gameplay loop feeds on your time like a leech.

Can You Play Balatro on Xbox Game Pass?
Balatro is now available to play on Xbox Game Pass if you have a valid subscription to the game offering service.
The February 24 Friends of Jimbo update added more content and cosmetic Joker designs. The update added Bugsnax, Assassin’s Creed, Slay the Princess, Fallout, Critical Role, Rust, Dead by Daylight, and Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 variations to choose from.
But, it also shocked everyone by shadow-dropping Balatro as an instant addition to the Xbox Game Pass catalog. That means if you have Game Pass, you can go and download Balatro for free this instant!
How to Play Balatro on Game Pass
Make sure you have an active Xbox Game Pass Subscription, search for Balatro on the Xbox Store, download it, and play Balatro.
Here’s a quick guide to playing Balatro through Microsoft’s Game Pass platform:
- Log in to your Microsoft account.
- Check to see if you have a valid Game Pass membership.
- If not, head to the Join Xbox Game page and subscribe to one of the plans.
