To date, the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise remain single-player experiences. It’s part of the charm, as you can jump in and out of the gameplay with little effort. But times are changing, and many players want online functionality to increase longevity. So, is Assassin’s Creed Shadows multiplayer?
Can You Play Assassin’s Creed Shadows Multiplayer?
One would think that considering there are two main characters in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, we’d have an opportunity to play cooperatively with a partner. Thankfully, that appears to be the case, following the most recent delay. Ubisoft is working on a co-op mode for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which they’re calling “LEAGUE.” It’s said that players will work together as Naoe and Yasuke, fighting alongside each other with various abilities and playstyles, to move through a level and defeat enemies. It’s unclear whether it’s a wave-based mode or mission-based, though.
Could that change? There’s always room for Assassin’s Creed to grow and evolve, but to include a co-op game mode? That’s unlikely.
If you want a multiplayer Ubisoft title, Rainbow Six Siege or Skull and Bones provide plenty of cooperative and competitive entertainment!
