The Axis Unseen is a heavy metal horror game where you hunt monsters from folklore in an open world. It comes from Nate Purkeypile (Just Purkey Games), a former developer on games like Starfield, Fallout 76, Fallout 4, Skyrim, and more.
In this exclusive interview, Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw talks with Purkeypile about the game’s development, its release, and even goes through a first look at an area called “The Darkness” in the game with never-before-seen monsters.
Other topics include future updates for the game, a console release, avoiding fatigue and burnout as a solo developer, and more.
You can watch the full interview and gameplay below. If you want specific timestamps to jump to, those are under the video for your convenience.
The Axis Unseen launches on October 22 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. There is also a demo currently available on Steam. Let us know what you think below or in the official community forums.
