Naughty Dog Announces Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet at The Game Awards

Naughty Dog has announced its next game, Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet, at The Game Awards.

The game description reads, “The Heretic Prophet is the newest franchise in development for the PlayStation 5 console from Naughty Dog, the studio behind acclaimed series like The Last of Us and UNCHARTED. Set thousands of years in the future, Intergalactic puts players into the role of Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.”

Last month, Naughty Dog head honcho Neil Druckmann confirmed that Troy Baker will have a leading role in the upcoming game. Baker, who is best known for playing Joel in Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us has also played the likes of Indiana Jones in Machine Games’ latest hit Indiana Jones and The Great Circle.

  • Every “insider” said God Of War would have something here there was nothing. Half Life 3 also didn’t happen and I don’t think this was the first time it was heavily rumored to be at a game awards show. Bluepoint still hasn’t shown their new game.

  • Hey, loving the announcement about “Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet”—sounds like the next big hit! Quick question: with Troy Baker’s involvement, do you think we’ll see any familiar dynamics from his previous roles, especially given his history with Naughty Dog?

Anyway, super excited to see how the story unfolds on Sempiria. Kudos to the team for keeping things fresh!

  • No one wanted this. Everyone is showing they didn’t want this. Sony is about to have another flop on their hands. They aren’t surviving this generation.

  • Sony’s future lineup looks bad. Ghost Of Yotei I’ve heard will get delayed, no one wants Death Stranding 2 except Kojima and that still has no update so probably delayed, Horizon live service game won’t sell, Marathon looks delayed, Fair Games no update and looks like trash, Bend is making a live service game, Wolverine seems to be pushed back to 2027 and if Venom happens it’ll be 2026 making Spider-Man 3 a 2029 0r 2030 title, now this it doesn’t look good I mean I guess there’s Santa Monica but they could be making a live service game too. With Sony attempting to buy Kadokawa too these studios won’t survive add that to box office failures from Sony Pictures and the struggling music industry yikes.

  • Bluepoint’s new game will probably be live service. If it’s Bloodborne I don’t think that moves the needle especially with more Elden Ring DLC on the way and reports of Dark Souls 3 remaster coming and Sekiro sold better you’d think From Software would follow up on that and it would for sure hurt Bloodborne remake or a sequel.

  • It looks like it’s set in the same universe as Concord are Horizon, this, and Concord all set in the same universe?
