The newest VALORANT agent, the Colombian initiator Tejo, has explosive abilities and potential. What he lacks in a flash ability that’s regular for initiators, he makes up with abilities that force enemies to give up their spots or else. He’s immediately become one of the best space creators in VALORANT.
Here we go over Tejo’s full ability kit, and we’ll dive into some neat tips and tricks for each ability.
How to use Tejo’s Stealth Drone
Tejo’s Stealth Drone is sneakily (pun intended) one of his most powerful pieces of utility. You can throw the drone down and control it for a short time, then activate it to suppress and reveal nearby enemies.
The range on Stealth Drone’s pulse is incredibly high. In the practice range, it managed to detect and suppress an enemy from 35 meters away. The pulse also hits all enemies in its range, which extends 360 degrees around it. As long as the enemy is in your sightline, you will hit them, even if you’re not looking in their direction. It’s also invisible at long range! The only thing it can’t do is tag enemies through walls.
When it tags enemies, the Stealth Drone pulse reveals enemies with one ping, and suppresses them for eight seconds. This gives an attacking team with Tejo a huge window to take site if he manages to suppress all the defenders there.
How to use Tejo’s Special Delivery
Special Delivery is a sticky grenade that concusses those caught in the blast. With a left-click it sticks to the first surface it touches, and with a right-click it bounces off one surface then sticks.
The issue with Special Delivery is that you already need to have a good idea where your opponent is hiding in order for it to be effective. Therefore, it’s best used right after Stealth Drone or if a teammate or other ability has already pinged an enemy. Alternatively, save it towards the end of the round and use it for post-plant.
How to use Tejo’s Guided Salvo
Guided Salvo is Tejo’s special ability. Tejo can pull up a tac-map, select two nearby spots on the map, and launch two autonomous rockets to those locations. When they arrive, they detonate with a three-pulse explosion (like a KAY/O grenade).
The Guided Salvo pulses will kill any enemy caught by all three pulses, so it forces any enemy to vacate. It’s best use is clearing out common hiding spots from range, or in denying spike plants or spike defusals. As your signature ability, you get another charge of Guided Salvo after a timer.
How to use Tejo’s ultimate ability, Armageddon
Armageddon unleashes a massive wave of missiles along a large corridor. Tejo uses a tac-map to select a starting point, than the direction the wave travels.
The wave of explosions deals a massive amount of damage, meaning any enemies caught in the blast will almost certainly be killed. Armageddon is best used like a Breach ultimate, allowing you and your team to follow the wave of explosions into a site. And unlike the Breach ultimate that only concusses enemies, no one can survive staying in the blast zone.
Players can unlock Tejo by completing the recruitment mission or paying for him with VALORANT Credits. Those with a connected and active Xbox Game Pass subscription can use him right away though.
