Split Fiction is a challenging but fun two-player co-op game. But outside of flying pigs and imploding stars awaits a level so difficult the developer struggled with it. Let’s show you how to access Split Fiction’s Laser Hell Secret Level—if you dare.
A Way Out and It Takes Two are unbelievable games in their own right. Each one is a memorable co-op adventure that doesn’t stretch your gaming ability to breaking point. Split Fiction has some challenging sequences, but again, nothing too difficult. If you’re looking for a challenge though, the “Laser Hell” secret level might be what you’re looking for.
Not only is this difficult, but it might be impossible for many!
How to Unlock Laser Hell Secret Level in Split Fiction

Split Fiction’s Laser Hell is found by inputting a special elevator code right at the end of the Maximum Security section of Chapter 6’s Isolation.
If you’ve already gone past this point, you can use Chapter Select to replay this section. So let’s give you full instructions showing you what to do and how to do it:
- Reach Chapter 6 Isolation.
- Progress through Maximum Security—you can back out to the main menu to check where you are in the chapter.
- Toward the end, Zoe uses her power to create a green downhill ramp taking you to an elevator.
- Before you enter, look above the doorway.
- A graphic reads SKOTOS 1100101101.
- In the elevator, the left button represents O, and the right-hand button equals 1.
- Press the elevator buttons in the order of the binary code.
- Once you’ve pressed on the final 1, stay still so the button remains highlighted.
- The other player must step onto the other button to trigger the elevator.
- Instead of taking you to the boss fight, you are taken to the hidden Laser Hell secret room.
What is Laser Hell in Split Fiction?
Laser Hell is a one-off obstacle course featuring a deadly series of laser platforming sections that must be completed by both players.
Quite simply, this requires expert timing and coordination. You both need to be perfect doing this, and Split Fiction director Josef Fares has even said: “There are barely people in our team that can make it. It took us a lot of time to finish it.”
Finding Laser Hell is one thing, but completing it is another.
What do You Get For Beating Laser Hell Secret Level in Split Fiction?
A special message from Josef Fares awaits players who complete Split Fiction’s Laser Hell Secret Level.
I won’t spoil the message, but I can share a video of a duo who’ve completed the gauntlet. You can see how to complete Laser Hell for yourself. If you don’t think you can achieve this, you can also watch the special message at the end.
A big shoutout to YouTuber ItzBytez for the method behind the secret level and the reward video.
Does this look like something you can do? Is it a testament to Split Fiction to acknowledge the hardcore gamers who want a mean platforming challenge? Let us know how you get on with this beastly battle.
