How Are People Playing Black Ops 6 Early with New Zealand Trick?

The legendary New Zealand trick is the key to playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as early as possible, and it can be done across various gaming platforms. This tactical maneuver only requires a few simple steps, making it a must-do method.

Black Ops 6 has significantly changed one specific piece of the CoD formula we’ve become accustomed to in recent years—there is no form of Early Access whatsoever. So, if you want to play BLOPS 6 ASAP, you must either wait for the applicable launch time in your region or employ the popular New Zealand trick.

Activision’s latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise launches at different times worldwide; however, New Zealand is always the first place most games can go live. You can enjoy Black Ops 6 earlier than you’re supposed to if you can utilize the New Zealand trick.

To do the New Zealand trick to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 ahead of schedule, you need to change your platform’s Location to New Zealand, tricking the device into thinking you’re based in New Zealand—manipulating the internal timezone and allowing you to play Black Ops 6 early.

This method has been around for quite a while, and it’s only gaining in popularity and usage. At the end of the day, a device is a piece of hardware that can’t detect which region it’s based in. You can change your device’s internal Location to anywhere, but changing it to New Zealand is the gateway to Black Ops 6’s only real Early Access.

When does Black Ops 6 go live in New Zealand?

Black Ops 6 releases in New Zealand at midnight on October 25, meaning, due to the time difference, you can play Black Ops 6 at 4 am PDT / 6 am CDT / 7 am EDT / 12 pm BST if you use the special trick.

Black Ops 6 Early Access Trick on on PC, explained

Can you play Black Ops 6 early on PlayStation using New Zealand trick?

Playing Black Ops 6 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 early using the New Zealand trick is unclear right now as it’s a lot trickier due to policies put in place by Sony.

PSN locks your account to whichever region you select when you make an account—and you can’t change it afterward. This means if you want to have a PlayStation account with New Zealand regionality, you need to make a whole new account. Worse still, once Black Ops 6 releases in your actual region on PlayStation, you need to start again as all your progress up until now is tied to your New Zealand account.

Ultimately, if you’re on PlayStation, I’d say it’s best to wait until you hit the official launch window in your region.
