In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Saviour Schnapps is one thing you’ll always want to keep in your inventory. It’s a special potion with arguably the most important use in the game, but fortunately, it’s easy to create. In this guide, I’m going to walk you through how to make Saviour Schnapps in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
Once you’ve picked up a few key herbs and found an Alchemy bench, you’ll be ready to go. Let’s learn what you need to make Saviour Schnapps in KCD2.
What is Saviour Schnapps For in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2?
If you’ve never played a Kingdom Come title, you won’t be familiar with Saviour Schnapps and what it does.
In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Saviour Schnapps is a potion that allows you to save your game wherever you are. This is a relatively challenging game, and checkpoints are few and far between, so when you’re out in the wild, you might find yourself needing to apply a quicksave – but Saviour Schnapps is the only way to do that.
The game saves on important story moments, when you quit the game, and when you sleep in an owned bed. Aside from that, you’ll need Saviour Schnapps.
What are the benefits of Saviour Schnapps?
Saviour Schnapps, when brewed properly, can also give you a boost in strength, vitality, and agility. You’ll drink it, save the game, and then you’ll have that temporary buff set applied to your character.
How to Brew Saviour Schnapps in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
To brew Saviour Schnapps, you’ll first need to acquire the recipe. Fortunately, you earn that early in the game from an unmissable quest that you’ll work through within the first hour or so. In Kingdom Come Deliverance (2018), you could only buy the recipe from the apothecary in Rattay.
Even more fortunately, there’s an Alchemy bench in the camp where you receive the recipe, so you can try brewing it straight away if you have the herbs.
To make Saviour Schnapps, you’ll need:
- 1 x Nettle
- 2 x Belladonna
Nettle plants are very common and can be found all over the game world – just look for the telltale bright green leafy plants on the ground, typically in forest settings.
Belladonna is a little rarer. You’re looking for plants with a pink-purple flower and dark berries; if you can’t find them in herb gardens, you can purchase Belladonna from herbalists or find them in fields around the game world.
Here’s the formula you need to follow to make Saviour Schnapps:
- At the Alchemy bench, start with a wine base
- Then, add the Nettle to the cauldron and boil for two turns of the sand timer
- Grind the Belladonna in the mortar and pestle
- Add the Belladonna to the raised cauldron and boil for another one turn of the sand timer
- Finally, pour into a phial
If you’ve brewed it right, you’ll have Saviour Schnapps. If you did something wrong, such as boiling for too long, you’ll have Weak Saviour Schnapps, which allows you to save the game without applying the boosts to your characters.
