It’s the easiest way to survive the hellish landscape of the zombie-infested Willamette Mall. You’ll increase your stats and improve your fighting capabilities and survivability as you level. Level Up Fast in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster
There are several methods to level up in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, including killing zombies, taking photographs, following along with the main storyline, and rescuing survivors. But three of those methods prove most lucrative and will likely consume much of your time in a playthrough anyway!
Slaying Zombies
One of the fastest methods for earning PP in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, especially when you land a high-power, fast weapon like the chainsaw, is to mow down hordes of zombies. With the chainsaw specifically, you can quickly rev up its engine and barrel through entire crowds, taking down tens of zombies and clearing an entire zone in minutes.
Alternatively, find a few explosives, like grenades or the Queen Bee, to kill an entire horde and soak up all the PP!
While you’ll earn a smaller amount of PP per second/minute, whichever you’d like to calculate, for slaying zombies as compared to taking photographs, you’ll do it anyway during normal gameplay.

Taking Photographs
While slaying zombies is an almost passive way to earn PP, as you’ll mow down the undead as you move through each zone, taking photographs is an excellent way to immerse yourself in the environment while enjoying a massive burst of PP.
There are a few spots in the game where you can farm as much PP as you can handle, such as the elevator leading down to the warehouse, which always spawns with a small horde of zombies inside, and the lake outside of the Food Court, which is usually bogged down by the undead. The more you sneak into one picture, the more PP you’ll earn. It’s even better if they’re attacking!
Rescue Survivors
You will earn tens of thousands of PP for rescuing survivors throughout the mall. Many of these are time-limited, as the encroaching zombies will kill the survivors if you don’t arrive in time or if you’re not careful in keeping them alive. Throughout the story, you’ll receive radio calls regarding survivor activity throughout the mall. Should you choose to follow up on the lead, you’ll typically find a civilian cowering in fear, awaiting any help. Clear out the nearby zombies, then convince them to follow you back to the Security Room. It’s an easy win, and there are achievements tied to saving people in the game!
What Does Leveling Up Do?
When you level up in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, not only does it fully restore your health, but you’ll also increase one stat:
- Attack
- Speed
- Life
- Item Stock
- Throw Distance
Throw Distance is a superb move, but you definitely want to increase your Attack, Speed, Life, and Item Stock to better survive the mall!
