How To Kill Schoene With A Coal Torpedo in Sniper Elite Resistance—Mission 6 Kill Challenge Explained

Mission 6’s Assault on Fort Rouge is expansive and extremely dangerous. Before you get to the crux of the operation, you can find and kill Uwe Schoene, and doing so with a Coal Torpedo is part of Sniper Elite Resistance’s sub-objectives.

Sniper Elite Resistance missions aren’t intended to be a one-time thing—quite the opposite. They can replayed with new strategies, you can approach objectives in new and imaginative ways, and Kill List subjects don’t have to be ended with a simple shot to the head. Sniper Elite’s creative juices flow best in the opportune moments, and Mission 6—Assault on Fort Rouge—has a bizarre-sounding Kill Challenge.

You need to eliminate Uwe Schoene with a Coal Torpedo. I didn’t know what on Earth a Coal Torpedo was before I played Sniper Elite Resistance, but I do now, and you will too.

The Coal Torpedo is a small lump of coal found on the bottom floor of the building Uwe Schoene starts in by default at the beginning of Assault on Fort Rouge Mission 6.

I’ll show you the easiest way I found to get the Coal Torpedo in Sniper Elite Resistance:

  1. Load up Assault on Fort Rouge.
  2. Use the default starting position: South Mountain Path.
  3. Enter the main part of the level through the starting stone bridge and gate.
  4. Carry on ahead and follow the natural road that curves around to the left.
  5. Looking at the Kill List building—which has a red border around it on the map—and enter from the most southwestern window.
  6. You enter a bush to get into the window.
  7. The Coal Torpedo is on the table to your left.
  8. Pick it up, and we can move on to using the device.

Schoene should remain in this building as you progress. Unless you trigger alarms and cause enemies to swarm you, this is his base of operations, and he remains in them. If he leaves the building, I recommend quickly restart the mission and try again.

You need to sneak upstairs from the location where you found the Coal Torpedo, evade security, and place the Coal Torpedo in a gold container next to a fireplace.

Once again, let me show you the optimal route to complete the task:

  1. Move forward and go through the doorway taking you into the main foyer.
  2. Turn right and go up the set of stairs.
  3. The first doorway on your right is very likely to have Uwe Schoene.
  4. Don’t enter, sneak around the giant room and reach the opposite side.
  5. Between a clothed table and a stack of objects with a white sheet is the room you go into.
  6. Approach the gold container next to the fireplace and press Use.
  7. Harry puts the Coal Torpedo inside the object.
  8. Now, hide nearby—behind a wooden desk or something obscuring.
  9. Schoene should walk into the room, grab the Coal Torpedo, and put it into the fire.
  10. Doing so makes the Coal Torpedo explode, killing Schoene, and completing the challenge!
